What Is Stress?
Acording to Seal (1997) in "What Is Stress", stress is an emotional or phisical reaction caused by some stressor which can affect our health, but at the same time it can have positive effects, too. The physiologist Hans Seyle is the one who proved that there are three stages of stress: the first one, alarm reaction, is the phisical mental response of a person or animal, the second one is the resistance in a stressful situation and the last one, exhaustion is when the organism collapse because it is not able to adapt to the stimulus. In his study he also demonstrated that all the animals react in the same way toward a certain stressful situation; in human beings, however, the reaction to stressors is distinct from one another because every person react differently to the same stressors.
